Reason #137 Why I Love Zach Even-Esh

zach even-esh underground strengthEvery generation has a few great men, a few rock-solid men of principle that simply inspire us all through actions. I would guess that JFK was that sort of fella, for many. President Reagen certainly had a way of inspiring. There’s icons of business like Steve Jobs, who simply would not sacrifice for “good enough” and (with recent ramblings excluded) Eastwood has been a rock.

These days, certainly in the world of strength & fitness it often feels like values, ethics and just simply good intentions are difficult to come by. And then there’s Zach Even-Esh, the rock behind the Underground Strength Gym—and the Underground Strength movement—what I believe is the movement in strength-fitness with the most momentum.

Zach is nothing if not original and himself. He’s never wanted or even tried to be anyone else. And I love that about him. When we talk, I take note. When he speaks, I listen.

If you don’t know Zach, you should. While he’ll sure as hell make your body and mind stronger, he will also renew your faith in the human spirit—and that is the greatest Strength of all.

I don’t want any hype behind what I do anymore.

I will openly admit, years ago when I
was getting started, I was learning from marketing wizards that every product should have the word “secrets” in the title and so on and so on.

I’m going back and fixing EVERYTHING.

I look back at all the hype and it’s embarrassing.

Unfortunately, I still see it happening today to the extremes, and, people are falling for it, looking for short cuts and miracles.

I promise you that if you work hard,
attack the basics, commit to healthy
eating, regular exercise and read
books that inspire and empower your mind you WILL experience results on the physical, mental and spiritual levels.

I STILL purchase training books and workouts from others. It keeps the mind fresh and stops me from getting too wrapped up in my own world and allows me to see things from a different perspective.

I learn from the old and the new. Often times, the old stuff is infinitely better than the new stuff.

Why?

Less hype, less bull shyt, basics, focus on hard work and all that “good stuff”.

The real stuff.

The truth.

How refreshing.

Wanna know what else is refreshing?

I forgot to tell you.

When I finished training The Blair Wrestlers for almost
2 hours on Wednesday, a few wrestlers stayed in the room and did extra work on their OWN.

They did Kettlebell farmer walks.

I walked into the weight room and found
a few more wrestlers doing extra work.

What were they doing?

Deadlifts, Benching and heavy curls.

Ahhhhh…..

The good ol’ basics don’t escape anyone, unless you let them escape, the choice is yours.

It’s time for me to have a strong breakfast and make breakfast for the fam before I hit the road early for my 1 day intense Underground Strength Coach Cert.

I am beyond psyched for this crew as my training and business has evolved more this year than ever before so there is MUCH to share with these new Coaches.

I’ll be attacking a lunch time workout to make sure I earn the right to eat lunch.

Fair?

I’d say so :)
