If you watched the Superbowl, like most of the US did, you witnessed a vintage, timeless classic; one of the all time greats giving an emotional, inspiring performance.
No, I’m not talking about Tom Brady or even Eli, (son of) Manning, but Clint Eastwood.
Damn straight! That was one hell of a great, hard fought, nail biter of a Superbowl. It’s just what the game should be—exceeding all the hype.
Just the same, from a sea of sophomoric mediocrity rose an epic commercial—one that stood so far above and beyond the typical chip, soda and beer shillin’ pooches, polar bears and sexy, angry women that it defies the label of Superbowl ad.
Entirely different than but equally as powerful as Apple’s iconic 1984 Macintosh commercial, this commercial for Chrysler Jeep will create a ripple in our consciousness—if only for a moment—awakening our collective spirit, our pride, reminding that the U.S. is about “us” not “us and them.”
Why? What makes it moves us?
The simple, easy answer is, “it’s different.” Where most Superbowl Ads aimed for our funny bone—playing it safe by helping us avoid thinking about how tough we’ve had it in the last few years—Chrysler didn’t step around the elephant in the room. Instead they went straight at it. Rather than fear awakening fear in people, they pointed straight at the fear and said, “F-You Fear! We got your ass!”
As anyone who knows a thing or two about success, or getting unstuck, ignoring a problem is the biggest problem of all. That fear is what we feel when we’re avoiding confrontation. When you want to cut through the fear and limits, you stop trying end-arounds and go straight up the middle.
Then, of course, it’s Clint. What you gonna say about Clint? He’s a living, breathing ever-day super-hero himself who has lived the whole of his life Full Strength. His voice resonates with a strength and confidence in our souls. And you know, if Clint says it, he means it. No amount of money could be paid to have Clint say something that didn’t align with his soul.
But what really makes this Superbowl commercial from Chrysler and its agency, Wieden+Kennedy, is the very same thing that moves us all: Emotion. The voice, the visuals, the story of resurrection, of people coming together, of fighting, of winning.
It’s real, it’s life and it’s a story of hope.
And they had the courage—and know it took courage—to create an inspiring message that ignites hope for people, from a city, for a country, so that we might glimpse a more brilliant future through the fog.
And as you watch it again (and if you’re like me, again) note that Clint never mentions Chrysler. They do not place the product or brand in front of the message, the emotion. Instead, they give you a gift, they lift you up, remind you you’re not alone and that you’re gonna be okay. And then as you’re feeling the hope, pride and possibility, only then do the logos of the Chrysler family quietly and slowly come into view.
Yeah, I know, it’s just a damned commercial. Right? Or is it just the wake up we we craving? Who’s to say just what the spark is that inspires a Transformation. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of the truth, to see through the fear and take one small step in the right direction.
For as the millions of success stories of Transformation prove, “It can be done. And what’s true about them, is true about all of us.”
And you know what Clint says at the close of this spot is true…
“This country can’t be knocked down with one punch. We get right back up again and when we do the world’s gonna hear the roar of our engines.”
“Yeah, it’s half time America. And our second half is about to begin.”
Is it Your Halftime Too?
For those of us 35 plus, this message carries added weight—because fact is, it’s halftime. Yep, we’re the lucky ones to have arrived in the second half still able and willing to play.
Now it’s time to start considering how you’re gonna make a comeback, how you’re gonna win in the second half. And as you may know, this is what I’m all about—it’s what I love and live to do, help people just like you win in the second half.I’m talking about not just getting by but awakening your life at Full Strength with the principles, the practices and the life nourishing nutrition of Full Strength.
With all the resolute certainty of Clint’s voice I urge you to get off the sidelines, stop waiting for the ball to come to you and get your ass all in the game of winning, of being a force for change in your country and world.
Step #1 is get your energy, clarity, focus and confidence back to peak levels. And there’s no better, more proven reliable place to start your resurrection than with the clinically proven, life changing, daily Full Strength Premium nutrition shake.

Shawn, I worked during the super bowl and missed the commercials this year.
Great Commercial, but I am afraid too many Americans have lost the fighting spirit of our Ancestors. Too Many on drugs, too many living on Govt handouts, too many involved in Big Business Greed, too many trying just to keep food on the table, too many waiting for someone else to do their fighting. The Occupy WallStreet movement proves many young and old Americans are not happy with “Business as Usual”. Sure wish I could join the movement against Corporate Greed, but I must work 6 days a week just to keep a roof over my head.
I am proud to be an American.
We have the Greatest Country on Earth.I know, I’ve been there done that.
I believe our country has taken a turn for the worse during the past half Century. We have lost family values. We have lost the work ethic brought to this country by our immigrant Forefather’s.
Greed is rampant. We have become a country of takers setting up the potential collapse of our Great Nation. We have allowed Government to grow beyond reasonable measures. Someone down the road must pay unfunded retirement pensions and health coverage.
I believe this County must do the following:
(not in order of importance)
1. Downsize Government
2. Reduce Corruption
3. Reduce Corporate Greed (Wall Street, Financial institutions)
4. Make college affordable to any American capable of attending
5. Bring our troops Home. We are not the World Police.
6. Promote athletics in elementary and middle schools
7. Promote mathematics and the sciences in our schools
8. Let Teachers Teach..Keep big Govt out of the class room.
9. Bring jobs back to America. Tax outsourcing
10. Develop and promote alternate fuels. Set a goal to reduce fossil fuel usage by a certain percentage by a certain year..and stick to it.
11. Stop Government handouts to any one hooked on drugs.
12. Eliminate bi-lingual signs and automated voice prompts. Our language is English. Want to live here???? Learn English
13. Bring the Pride back to “Made in America”
14. Eliminate our Government subsidies to Countries who may use that money against us at a future date. Haven’t we learned from past mistakes?
The only individual I can think of who could have replaced Clint Eastwood would have been the Duke…John Wayne.
Thanks for the link to the commercial.
