This morning, both you and the sun rose to welcome the new day.
Like a newborn child, each day is born anew holding nothing but pure potential, possibility and dreams of grand achievement.
How did you embrace this priceless gift?
With awareness and reverence; nurturing your body, mind and soul with positive, quality, energizing nourishment that elevates and sustains you?
Or…
Did you greet the day by giving your body, mind, and energy the firm, stiff middle finger—while shoving convenient, hunger nullifying crap into your body and chasing it with an energy cocktail to temporary elevate?
I understand you’re busy—you’ve got important stuff to do.
That’s precisely why I am suggesting that you act like it. The few minutes your mindless disregard and neglect pretends to spare you, will inevitably cost you hours, weeks, months and years of your life.
A body given “the middle finger” will most assuredly be returning the gesture, all day long—and more.
It’s a True Miracle
When you really stop to think about it, it’s nothing short of a miracle that you some how pop out of a near-death experience called deep sleep, to re-animate your body and think a single coherent thought each day.
That first hour after you awake is sacred time—you’re stepping into new, vibrant space alive with fresh energy from which amazing results is both desired and expected.
The world awaits.
Yet, in a moment of macho defiance, many choose to treat their body like a second rate servant—making a choice that can only handicap their energy and limit potential.
Mystery Solved
When you find yourself struggling with energy, focus, results, fatigue, stress, lacking confidence and feel you’re compromising your health, you can most reliably track back to the start of your day and find the culprit. A seemingly innocent misstep or two, made early in your day triggers a cascade of events, sending you off course, zapping your potential and sacrificing results.
As energy is the true currency of our lives, this downward spiral usually begins with a nutritional “back-hand” that robs your energy, health, and vitality—leaving you struggling for focus, energy and performance. Most people make the mistake of believing they can will themselves to success, that their mind is the master, not their body.
Yet, even if the body were willing, it can’t do if not able. And given that your mind is only as strong and clear as your body, tanking your body has a direct and profound impact on your mind.
Here you are being graced by the divine miracle of a new day, the cycle of life in renewal, and the best you can do is slam a bagel in your pie hole, and wash it down with a couple cups of coffee? Hell, might as well bring a prostitute to the last supper.
The message is simple: The mistake you make for breakfast reverberates all day long.
Guaranteed, that body you so defiantly give the middle finger to, inevitably ends up giving you the middle finger back all day long, every day.
Each day, like each life, is a single—it happens only once. There are no “do-overs.”

Please use a different metaphor than the prostitute comment above. Most, if not all, are victims of incest, abuse, or human trafficking. Prostitution is not a problem of a woman being immoral. It’s a problem of men abusing women. The idea that such a woman is unclean is positively medieval.
You can do better than this, Shawn.

Liz, appreciate your comment and confidence in me.
It clearly was intended to make a point and get a reaction. The darn thing is nearly every “punch line” runs the risk of offending or being misconstrued. In the context used, it makes no moral indictment of a woman and I don’t think I even said “Her,” or, “she.” Did I ?
I certainly did not indicate the mid-evil thought of anyone being “unclean.” The intent was that it might shock people because of social judgment… and of course there’s a deeper pun in there if you know some of the stories / theories of the good book.
Thanks again… I’ll be more careful in the future, although I often feel I’m too careful now.

Thanks for the response, Shawn. It’s not a big deal. Again, I do trust and respect you, or I would certainly not have bothered to point it out.
But I think it’s a bit disingenuous to take the easy way out and say you weren’t necessarily talking about a woman. Were you thinking of a man? It’s safe to say that few people would, given that sentence. That’s not sexist, it’s just how our society works. The VAST majority of prostitutes are women, and even the male prostitutes are serving men. So the problem of frequenting them is a male problem that needs to be addressed.
But, Aggghh!!! The thread is hijacked, and I really don’t want to change the focus that much. I’m happy to let this go, and let others comment on the content of your message, which is why I read it in the first place. It’s excellent, and I see myself in this. Thank you.

It’d be disingenuous if it were my only point. I was pointing out that you carried the energy and vision of what you were seeing. Damn thing–and great thing–about life is it’s designed to feed us back just what we expect to see. Thus, we are co-creating (and most say creating) our perceived reality.
That’s my point…
Agreed… done. Thanks for getting back.
To Your Strength…

I never thought of it that way before Shawn. I saw this really play out today. This morning, I had a good breakfast and had the energy needed for my activities. I gave my body crap for lunch and got crap in return from my body. I can’t believe that I’m really doing that to my body. This was a good wake up call for me in that I know I’m not caring for my body as I should and I’m reaping what I am sowing. If I want things to change with myself and my body, it starts with caring for it from the moment my day begins. I’m going to try my best not to give my body the finger any more!

A little off topic, but are the shakes available in any Canadian stores?
