During any prolonged challenge hold the ever present thought that, “Discretion is the better part of valor.” Know it is not a victory to perish in noble attempt but rather to reach your destination intact. And know when to take a knee…

During a Transformation challenge there will be opportunities to take a knee, when the wise move is to do something different, to take a breath and collect yourself. It may mean a day off out of the blue or some much needed rest over more activity. It could be having a free meal or a free moment. It’s different for each of us but the most important thing to remember is while you have a plan and are pursuing your goals, you are in charge. It’s your body and life and only you can make the right call for you in the moment.

You’ve heard the saying. And may have heard others declare it a myth. What is the truth? Should training hurt? And if so, how should you deal with pain and even benefit from it in your training?

You can wish it weren’t so, even argue against it, as many have, but we all know deep down, in quiet moments of solitude, that you’re either getting stronger or spinning your wheels and wasting your time. That’s just a part of “the masterplan”—the part that unfortunately lands so many millions smack down on the sofa for the vast majority of their lives.
