    Abe,

Did you watch the video? Dr. Tom spells it out about a minute in.

    Thanks for asking…

I don’t like that he says people who aren’t aging well (loss of vision especially) are a burden on society. I know people who are handicapped in various ways and contribute immensely to society. He seems like a musclehead jerk to me.

    Hi Shawn,

I love your work, and I want to say again that you do an excellent job. I want to ask you though to be carefull with this video as some of the ideas expressed by Dr. Tom could be misinterpreted. He says: “If you loose any of those three (ie. movement, memory, vision)…you are a burden to society.” This unfortunate statement completely ignores the huge amount of people who have any of those three faculties impaired through no fault of their own by diseasy or accident. This sentence would imply that they have become a burden to society. Please listen to the video with this interpretation in mind, and see whether you still think you should publish it here.

    All the best,
    Geert Drieghe

Imagine if we all ate more healthy choices, we wouldn’t all be so fat with high colesterol and heart disease. Type 2 diabeties wouldn’t be on the rise as it is. He’s talking about making wrong choices that lead to these things, not about someone born blind! Ease up people! You must read and listen with the context of what is being talked about in mind.
