How to Forge Strength in Times Like These

Mon, Oct 13, 2008

This may well be the most timely and important SSM to date.

It’s a brief special edition SSM article that takes a direct aim at the
uncertainty and chaos we’re all feeling on account of the financial
turn that’s hit us all.

It’s not going to change the way things are but it can change the
way you see it and the way you embrace this turning point-and
ultimately that’s the most important thing. For it’s not what
happens to us but how we respond that matters.

  1. LTC Brian Cook Says:

    Shawn – Dead-on target. One more quote that may help stimulate the brain cells this morning on “Eliminate Fear”;

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are we not to be?
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

    Hope all is well –
    Brian C. Cook
